Re: ratemylego.com and ratemylegos.com

Dear Sir or Madam:

This law firm represents the interests of LEGO Systems, Inc. and other
members of the LEGO Group of Companies for certain intellectual
property matters ("the LEGO Group"). Your ownership and use of the
domain names, <www.ratemylego.com> and <www.ratemylegos.com>, were
brought to my attention.

First let me say that the LEGO Group is always pleased to learn that
people such as you take such a great interest in its products. The
LEGO Group hopes that your interest will continue and that your
enthusiasm will inspire others.

However, as you may know, LEGO® is a registered trademark of the LEGO
Group and is an important asset of the LEGO Group. Accordingly, the
LEGO Group must be extremely vigilant in protecting its intellectual
property rights and in preventing the unauthorized use of its
trademarks in order to prevent confusion with and dilution of those
trademarks.

The LEGO Group was surprised to learn that you had re-registered its
LEGO® mark as part of your domain names <www.ratemylego.com> and
<www.ratemylegos.com>. The effect of your use of the LEGO® mark as
part of your domain names, even combined with other words, creates the
false and misleading impression that you are authorized, licensed or
approved to provide information about, or goods or services with
respect to, the LEGO ®products or the LEGO Group itself.

As stated in the Fair Play section of the LEGO Group’s web site at
<www.LEGO.com>, “the LEGO® trademark should not be incorporated
into an Internet address.” The LEGO Group considers the
unauthorized use of its LEGO® mark in a domain name by anyone who is
not affiliated with the LEGO Group to be a trademark infringement
under the law.

We hereby as that: (1) you immediately and permanently cease using the
domain names www.ratemylego.com and www.ratemylegos.com and any other
domain names or email addresses which include as part thereof the
LEGO® mark(s) or any variation(s) thereof; and (2) you agree not to
re-register the <www.ratemylego.com> and <www.ratemylegos.com> domain
names.

Should you continue to operate your web sites at another domain,
please note that there are requirements for the proper use of the LEGO
Group’s trademarks. (Please also refer to our Fair Play policy for
the further reference.) According to these requirements, the LEGO
trademark must always appear in all capital letters and must be
followed by the ® symbol each times that the word appears on each
page, which shows the registered status of the mark. Please also not
that our trademarks must never be used descriptively or generically
(i.e., Legos), but must always be used as an adjective followed by a
descriptive noun (e.g., LEGO® toys) and must never be combined with
other words (with or without a hyphen) to form a new word. A
disclaimer line must also appear in close proximity to the use of our
trademarks stating that LEGO is a registered trademark of the LEGO
Group and that your product is neither manufactured or endorsed by the
LEGO Group. We ask that you revise your web sites accordingly.

As you are a LEGO® enthusiast, we hope that you can understand why it
is so important to the LEGO Group to protect its trademarks and that
you will take the appropriate steps to ensure that such improper use
does not occur in the future. If you have any questions, please do
not hesitate to contact me.

The foregoing is without prejudice to our rights or remedies, all of
which are expressly reserved. I look forward to your reply.

Sincerely,

George A. Pelletier, Jr.
